False Alarm: Law Enforcement Investigates Franklinton High

Officials confirmed there was no active shooter at Franklin County's Franklinton High School on Monday morning, though law enforcement agencies conducted an investigation after a report prompted the school to go into lockdown. Approximately thirty minutes after the initial call came in around 10:23 a.m., authorities announced that no threats or injuries were found during sweeps of the campus.

Franklin County Sheriff Kevin White stated all students and staff are safe, noting that multiple agencies including the State Bureau of Investigation were present to investigate the false report. While law enforcement remains on site to assist families in picking up their children, officials emphasized they will pursue consequences for whoever made the allegation.
