Avalanche Host Flames in Halloween Rematch at Ball Arena

2K

The Colorado Avalanche will host the Calgary Flames on Saturday night as they conclude their home stand for the first time in twenty-four years. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 P.M. MDT inside Ball Arena, marking a reunion between the two franchises after the Avs previously defeated Calgary 7-3 in October of this season.

The Avalanche enter the contest with a record of seven wins and five losses following their Friday night victory over the New Jersey Devils at home. In that recent matchup, Mackenzie Blackwood secured his sixth win by stopping twenty out of twenty-two shots while players including Gabriel Landeskog, Nazem Kadri, Parker Kelly, Nathan MacKinnon, and Jaden Schwartz each found the net.

Colorado's offense has seen Nicolas Roy return from injury to register an assist on a goal in their last game. Head coach Jared Bednar confirmed that defenseman Josh Manson will miss eight weeks due to an ankle injury, opening opportunities for Noah Juulsen who is seeing increased usage.

Nathan MacKinnon remains the team's top scorer with twenty-two points and fourteen assists, while Artturi Lehkonen leads in goals with ten. A victory on Saturday would place Colorado within one point of second-place Utah in their standings.

The Flames have been performing well recently, securing five wins out of their last six games before facing the Avalanche at home.
