Tri-Cities and Nashville Honor Dolly Parton on Sept. 25

September 25 is being observed as 'Dolly Day' across Tennessee to honor the late Queen of Country following her death in August at age 80. The date references her hit song and movie, '9 to 5.' In Owensboro, Wonder Whip will sell a special menu item called the 'Tennessee Mountain Twist,' with proceeds benefiting the Imagination Library of Daviess County. Nashville is celebrating through live performances by music venues starting at 5 p.m., discounts, food deals, donations from the Musicians Hall of Fame to the Imagination Library, and fireworks closing downtown at 9:25 p.m. Residents are encouraged to wear pink and donate to local causes.
