Lakers Target Mavericks' PJ Washington Amid Center Search

The Los Angeles Lakers are actively monitoring trade markets for big men despite recent roster moves. Sources indicate the team seeks additional center depth or power forward options to complement Walker Kessler and other current frontcourt players. While they previously explored deals involving Jericho Sims, reports suggest interest in Dallas Mavericks forward PJ Washington due to his size and experience alongside Luka Doncic.

Bleacher Report lists Derrick Jones Jr., along with Washington and Day'Ron Sharpe as top trade targets for the Lakers this season. Each player offers specific attributes that could address current roster holes behind Kessler, though the team operates under full capacity constraints.

Additionally, speculation exists regarding Daniel Gafford's potential availability in a blockbuster deal involving Dallas, contingent on the health of teammates like Dereck Lively and Morez Johnson.
