Demacia Cup Global Invitational Preview: KT vs Shopify Rebellion

The 2026 League of Legends Demacia Cup Global Invitational is set to crown the world's best team that failed to qualify for Worlds, featuring teams seeded between fourth and seventh from six major regions. The tournament runs from October 3 to 17 with an initial Swiss Stage consisting of online best-of-one matches before moving offline in Beijing for a Knockout Stage starting on October 12.

Key Round 1 matchups include KT Rolster facing Shopify Rebellion, HANJIN BRION playing against JD Gaming, and BNK FearX taking on Team Vitality. While last year's Worlds finalists KT are considered favorites at Polymarket odds of 33%, they will face a challenging opponent in the LCS team that recently defeated FlyQuest.

Other notable teams include BFX, who lost star player Nam 'Diable' Dae-geun after qualifying for First Stand; Natus Vincere, which relied heavily on rookie Enes 'Rhilech' Uçan during LEC Playoffs; and Team Vitality, whose roster failed to win a single playoff series despite strong regular season finishes. The event offers consolation prize packages for teams missing Worlds qualification while providing competitive opportunities across the Swiss format.
