Danielle Deadwyler Stars in Hulu's Ryan Coogler X-Files Reboot

Hulu has ordered a series of Ryan Coogler's "X-Files" reboot, which features Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel as two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents. The project follows the pair forming an unlikely bond while investigating cases involving unexplained phenomena in a long-shuttered division.

Deadwyler is co-executive producing alongside Coogler's Proximity Media and 20th Television, which are handling production with Onyx Collective. Jennifer Yale serves as showrunner for the series created by original star Chris Carter.

Coogler wrote and directed the pilot episode in February after a multi-year development period. He expressed gratitude to his collaborators at Hulu, noting that their performances brought rewarding perspectives to these characters.
