Canelo Returns to Saudi Arabia for Mbilli Fight Despite Missile Attacks

Mexican boxer Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez is scheduled to fight French pugilist Christian Mbilli in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The bout was officially confirmed on October 8 and will take place this Saturday despite ongoing missile and drone attacks by Houthi forces targeting the country's capital.

The event had faced numerous rumors of postponement or relocation after a deadly attack at King Khalid International Airport killed 13 people and injured over 300. However, Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh stated that Canelo intended to fight in Riyadh regardless of the situation. A pre-fight press conference proceeded as planned on Thursday morning despite recent explosions shaking Riad.
