MRT Circle Line Service Resumes After Fault Disruption in Singapore

MRT service between Marina Bay and Promenade stations on Singapore's Circle Line has resumed following a train fault that caused a 35-minute service disruption on September 1. The incident occurred at around 8:35 am, with SMRT announcing the disruption at 8:41 am and confirming the resumption of service at approximately 9:10 am. During the outage, free bus services were provided between the affected stations, and passengers traveling towards Marina Bay were advised to transfer to other lines, including the North-South Line at Dhoby Ghaut or Bishan, or the Thomson-East Coast Line at Caldecott. Passengers heading to Bayfront station were advised to transfer at Promenade or MacPherson stations for the Downtown Line. SMRT President Lam Sheau Kai apologized for the inconvenience and explained that staff were deployed immediately to fix the fault, which involved moving the affected train to clear the line. This disruption is part of a series of recent MRT and LRT network issues in Singapore, including faults on the Downtown Line, Sengkang-Punggol LRT, North East Line, and East-West Line, causing delays and service interruptions over the past month.
