Dallas Stars Trade for Samu Tuomaala, Send Christian Kyrou to Flyers
The Dallas Stars have acquired forward Samu Tuomaala from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for defenseman Christian Kyrou. Tuomaala, 22, has played 120 AHL games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, recording 75 points and finishing the 2024-25 season with 32 points in 46 games. He was drafted by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft. Currently, Tuomaala has yet to score in three games with the Flyers' AHL affiliate, Lehigh Valley, this season. Christian Kyrou, also 22, has played 97 AHL games with the Texas Stars, accumulating 38 points. He was drafted by Dallas in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft and has appeared in one Calder Cup playoff game. The trade marks a strategic move for both teams, with Tuomaala expected to join the Texas Stars and Kyrou to report to the Flyers’ AHL affiliate. The exchange reflects ongoing roster adjustments as teams aim to strengthen their developmental prospects.
