Koke Misses Champions League Match vs Man Utd After Mother's Death

Atletico Madrid captain Jorge "Koke" Resurrección will not play in the Tuesday Champions League game against Manchester United following the death of his mother, Ana Merodio Borja. The club confirmed her passing early on Tuesday morning in Madrid without specifying a cause. In honor of Koke's family, UEFA approved a minute of silence before both the Champions League and Youth League matches at Metropolitano Stadium. Players will wear black armbands during these tributes, while the club flag outside the stadium flies at half-staff.
