Carmine Agnello Marries Accuser While Serving Fraud Sentence

According to a lawyer for Carmine Agnello, the grandson of late Gambino crime boss John Gotti has married Ariana Puran, the woman who accused him of assault. The marriage took place days before Agnello surrendered to federal authorities in June to begin serving his sentence for defrauding a COVID-19 relief program. Despite being incarcerated at that time, he remains charged with third-degree assault and other offenses in Nassau County District Court regarding an incident involving Puran while they were staying at her home near East Norwich. Prosecutors stated Agnello became suspicious of infidelity on June 2nd around 10:30 p.m., demanded to see her phone, and escalated the situation physically by pushing and shoving her. Police reports indicate he slapped her face, punched her side, throttled her with both hands, kicked her lower body after she fled to her car, and smashed an iPhone on the ground before surrendering custody just prior to the start of the Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals.
