Astros Star Carlos Correa Out Rest of MLB Season Due to Ankle Injury

The Houston Astros confirmed Tuesday that star shortstop Carlos Correa will miss the remainder of the Major League Baseball season due to an ankle issue. Manager Joe Espada explained that while Correa had not suffered a new setback, his recovery from May's peroneus brevis tendon repair surgery has been hampered by daily workload and resulting soreness. Originally expected back before the postseason after undergoing surgery in late spring, Correa is now focused on rehabilitation at Triple-A Sugar Land to prepare for next season. In 32 games prior to his injury, Correa hit .279 with a slash line of .418/.369/.418, including three home runs and 16 RBI. The Astros remain atop the American League West but will continue their playoff push without Correa.
