Brooke Eby, an ALS advocate who inspired millions through candid storytelling and humor, died Thursday night at age 37 following a four-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Diagnosed in 2022 at age 33, she documented her illness on social media while continuing to work as a Salesforce employee until her passing was confirmed by CEO Marc Benioff.

Eby founded ALStogether, an online peer community for individuals living with ALS and their caregivers, which the ALS Network integrated into its organization in 2026. Her advocacy efforts also led colleagues at Salesforce to create ALSforce, a group raising funds for medical research. The ALS Network honored Eby as Advocate of the Year in June 2026.

Sheri Strahl, president and CEO of the ALS Network, stated that Brooke changed how people view ALS while simultaneously changing how patients find support among one another through her fearless honesty and humor.
