Bobby Hauck Leaves Illinois Defense After Four Games

Illinois announced Sunday afternoon that defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck has departed the program following just four games of his tenure. Head coach Bret Bielema stated they mutually agreed a leadership change was best for their defense, staff, and student-athletes after meeting early in the morning. Although Hauck expressed appreciation for his time with Coach Bielema and thanked everyone involved, he noted that his new 3-3-5 defensive scheme has faced criticism during the team's two-win-two-loss start to the season.
