Hundreds Mourn Student Who Fell to Death at Franklin High

Community members gathered Thursday evening outside Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park for a vigil honoring Xavier, a 17-year-old senior who died after falling from a fourth-floor corridor on campus. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon following an altercation between two students inside a classroom. Videos circulating online show one student hitting another before jumping from the upper level; authorities have stated there was no evidence of foul play, though details remain unclear. Xavier's family has reported he had experienced bullying in previous grades and claimed he ran from his classmates after being attacked while in 10th grade. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
