Major Power Outage Causes Major Delays on Multiple BART Lines in San Francisco
A power issue in San Francisco caused significant disruptions on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system during Monday morning rush hour. The outage, first reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. between Powell and Embarcadero stations, led to major delays and service suspensions across several lines. All Red and Green Line services were halted, while Yellow Line service through the Transbay Tube was limited, and Blue Line service between Dublin/Pleasanton and Bay Fair was also affected. Riders had to make transfers to complete their trips. By around 9 a.m., BART officials reported that the system was recovering and normal service was being restored. The cause of the power issue has not been disclosed.
