Morocco Dethrones South Africa as Top African Investment Hub
500
Bloomberg AI reports that Morocco has overtaken South Africa to become the continent's fourth-most attractive investment destination, driven by years of industrialization and manufacturing growth. Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) stated in its latest report that Morocco has emerged as a leading hub for automotive production while maintaining macroeconomic stability and attracting substantial foreign direct investment. Although South Africa benefits from deep financial markets and ongoing reforms, slower economic growth caused it to slip in the rankings. Meanwhile, Nigeria recorded significant progress by climbing seven places after implementing reforms such as fuel subsidy removals and foreign-exchange liberalization.
