Adam Joseph Named Chief Meteorologist at 6abc Following Cecily Tynan's Retirement

On October 19, 2026, WPVI-TV announced that longtime meteorologist Adam Joseph has been promoted to chief meteorologist for Action News. He succeeds Cecily Tynan, who retired in August after a thirty-year career at the station. A twenty-year veteran of Action News, Joseph previously served as senior meteorologist for weekday and primetime newscasts before joining the station in 2005. General Manager John W. Morris described Joseph as a beloved figure known for his enthusiasm and ability to explain complex weather systems clearly. Before this promotion, Joseph worked at stations in West Virginia and Charleston-Huntington where he earned an AMS Seal of Approval for Television.
