Adam Driver Declares Kylo Ren Era Over After Disney Rejection
Actor Adam Driver confirmed on The Rich Eisen Show that his tenure as Kylo Ren in Star Wars is finished, stating "the ship has sailed" following the studio's refusal to greenlight a standalone project. Working for two years with director Steven Soderbergh and writers Scott Burns and Rebecca Blunt, the team crafted a script set after Rise of Skywalker but was denied by Disney executives Bob Iger and Alan Bergman because it depicted Ben Solo as alive. Although fans reacted strongly when Lucasfilm approved the pitch initially, final approval never materialized due to studio concerns about continuity with previous films. Driver emphasized that while he remains interested in future Star Wars work, no new version of Kylo Ren will be portrayed by him.
