Swedish Football Player Suspended and Charged with Extortion and Drug Offenses

Landskrona BoIS has suspended Vincent Sundberg, a key player, following his conviction for serious crimes, including extortion and drug possession. Sundberg was sentenced to probation and community service after attempting to extort a family by demanding 44,000 SEK, claiming he would take action if he did not receive the money. The player sent threatening letters to a family whose son owed him money, including instructions to leave the money in their mailbox. When the family followed the instructions, police arrested Sundberg and his accomplice. During the investigation, authorities found 2.38 grams of cocaine and a scale in Sundberg's son's room; the player denied ownership of the drugs, claiming his father had stored them. The court did not accept this explanation and convicted Sundberg of attempted extortion and drug offenses. As a result, he is temporarily suspended from training and matches by his club. The club stated they take the matter very seriously and are acting immediately, emphasizing that Sundberg's actions are incompatible with the club’s values.
