Russian Tu-95 Bomber Crashes During Training, Killing Six Crew

A Russian Tupolev Tu-95 nuclear-capable strategic bomber crashed during a training mission in an uninhabited area of the Amur region near Krasnoyarovo. The crash occurred on Tuesday while the aircraft was flying without ammunition or weapons aboard. According to Russia's Ministry of Defence, six crew members were killed and one survived with injuries requiring hospitalization. Fire services are currently working at the scene where large amounts of smoke have been observed rising from the burning wreckage. An Aerospace Forces commission has been dispatched to investigate the incident. The Tu-95 is a Soviet-era four-engine turboprop bomber that entered service in 1956 and remains actively used by Russian military exercises.
