Patira accuses TK president of manipulating court panels
Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek stated that Judge Sławomir Patyra filed a report accusing the acting Chief President Bogdan Święczkowski of intentionally bypassing legal rules when selecting judicial panels. According to reports, these actions occurred between January and September 2026 with the aim of aligning rulings with political expectations or opposition interests. The General Prosecutor's Office has added this report to an ongoing investigation regarding violations of labor rights within the Tribunal.
Meanwhile, Judge Patyra explained that Chief President Święczkowski must convene a general assembly for judges who were legally elected and took their oath, including those currently excluded from ruling cases. He emphasized that excluding these judges prevents any legal decisions from being made in the court. Regarding efforts by Święczkowski to seek help from Sejm marshals concerning the 2027 budget, Patyra noted such actions are ineffective under law.
