Urban trusts 18-year-old Potulski in Nations League clash
Poland's national team opened their Nations League campaign against Bosnia and Herzegovina, playing for the first time outside Europe's top tier after dropping to Division B. The match outcome will influence Poland's seeding for the Euro 2028 qualifiers held on British islands later this year.
Coach Jan Urban selected Kacper Potulski as a starter from the opening minute in Friday's fixture, which ended in a goalless draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Potulski made his senior debut at age 18 years and 224 days, becoming Poland's youngest defender since Piotr Skrobowski.
The Mainz-based midfielder has played regularly for club FSV this season following interest from clubs including Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, AC Milan, and Inter. Potulski stated his desire to play at Real Madrid but promised not to be difficult if the Spanish giants approach him.
