Olisadebe Asks Urban for Lewandowski Duo in Attack
Emmanuel Olisadebe, a former Polish international born in Nigeria, attended a press conference ahead of the June 3 friendly match against his home country. During the event, the 47-year-old former star asked then-coach Jan Urban if he would be willing to play alongside Robert Lewandowski in the attack. Urban, initially speaking in English, jokingly requested the question be asked in Polish. When Olisadebe repeated his query in Polish, Urban responded with amusement, stating that if Olisadebe scored as many goals as he did in the past, he would definitely play. Olisadebe explained his reasoning by noting that Lewandowski would create space and attract defenders, allowing Olisadebe more time to finish. While Lewandowski has scored 89 goals for Poland, Olisadebe's total remains at 11. The upcoming match between Poland and Nigeria is scheduled to begin at 20:45 at the PGE Narodowy.
