Poland mourns Malgorzata Gowin who died fighting systemic sclerosis

Malgorzata Gowin has passed away after a long struggle with the rare disease systemic sclerosis, which gradually stripped her of mobility and independence. Diagnosed at age 35 while raising two daughters and caring for younger sisters, she spent four years confined to bed before developing severe digestive issues and heart failure. She required specialized equipment, expensive medication, and constant care but could only afford part of the costs needed.
