Polish police escorted Roman Pindel, the bishop of the Bielsko-Biała and Żywiec diocese, out of a church in Grojec under cover of night following an aggressive protest by parishioners. The unrest began on Sunday evening when congregants gathered to oppose the dismissal of their priest, Józef Zborka, citing proven serious irregularities confirmed by Vatican authorities. Bishop Pindel had arrived at the local St. Wenceslaus church for a meeting with the pastoral council regarding Zborka's removal and attempted to address the congregation from an altar microphone before being interrupted.
