The suspension coincides with widespread criticism of the White House for promoting its official mobile app as a news source just days after restricting journalists from CNN, Politico, and MS NOW. Critics have labeled this promotion an example of state-run media practices reminiscent of authoritarian regimes. During Monday's helipad ribbon-cutting ceremony, the administration's livestream suffered severe audio failure, broadcasting nine minutes of static while Trump spoke.
