Young Farmers Incentives in South Tyrol and Trentino for First-Time Agricultural Entrepreneurs
Young farmers aged between 18 and 40 in South Tyrol are now eligible for new financial incentives aimed at supporting their first-time establishment as farm owners. The initiative encourages young people to purchase or take over agricultural businesses by providing financial contributions and requiring a business development plan. The program is part of the European Union-funded Rural Development Program (FEASR) and is integrated into the national Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Applications are accepted from February 2 to June 15, through the regional online portal, with the support of the Provincial Office for Property and Agriculture. The measure aims to facilitate generational renewal in agriculture, addressing challenges faced by new entrants. Similar initiatives are also highlighted in Trentino, emphasizing ongoing regional efforts to promote youth involvement in agriculture, with support measures linked to the European Rural Development Program.
