Peppa Pig's George Pig Diagnosed as Deaf in Groundbreaking Episode Featuring Jodie Ounsley

Peppa Pig will introduce a groundbreaking storyline in which George Pig is diagnosed with moderate hearing loss and fitted with a hearing aid, beginning on March 9. The episode, titled 'Hearing Test,' will depict George discovering new sounds and experiencing a milestone by saying Peppa's name for the first time. This storyline was developed in partnership with the National Deaf Children’s Society to promote understanding and inclusion of childhood hearing loss. Gladiator Jodie Ounsley, who was born deaf and has a cochlear implant, will star as the audiologist helping George. Ounsley expressed her gratitude for being part of the show, stating that it felt very real and emotionally significant. The storyline aims to educate children and families about childhood hearing loss in an accessible way, celebrating differences and promoting positive representation. Peppa Pig, first aired in 2004 and now available in over 180 territories, continues to address important social issues through its content.
