Palin admitted that his own wife was friends with all of John's former spouses, a fact that reportedly upset the comedian who preferred to deal only with his current partner. The relationship dynamic also contrasts with other Python partnerships; unlike Cleese and Eric Idle, whose business disagreements caused major rifts, Palin stated he has done things John dislikes but remains a close friend.
