Celebrities Gather at Lucas Museum's Opening Gala

A-list actors, directors, artists, and politicians attended the star-studded opening-night gala for George Lucas's new narrative art museum in Los Angeles. The event featured Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Gavin Newsom, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Trudeau, Nancy Pelosi, Owen Wilson, Meg Ryan, Jack Quaid, Magic Jones, and others celebrating the facility's launch with a drone spectacle and musical performance.

George Lucas and co-founder Mellody Hobson defended their ambitious project as a legitimate cultural landmark during the festivities. The museum, designed by architect Ma Yansong's firm MAD, costs approximately $1 billion and houses over 300,000 square feet of art ranging from ancient relics to pop culture items.

Critics argue that this massive institution scrambles traditional categories in an effort to redefine what constitutes a legitimate art museum. Despite the controversy surrounding its eclectic mix of masterworks and reproductions, Lucas insists illustration and narrative elements belong alongside classic pieces.
