Chad Gilbert Dies at 45 Following Cancer Battle

New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has died aged 45 after a prolonged fight with cancer. The band confirmed on September 20 that he passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family and friends, including his wife Lisa Cimorelli and mother Jackie.

Gilbert was diagnosed with brain cancer in early 2026 following chemotherapy treatment earlier this year; the condition progressed to Stage 4 Carcinoma before his death. He is survived by his daughter Lily, brother Brian, and other loved ones.

A founding member since the mid-1990s, Gilbert helped shape New Found Glory through three decades of work, contributing songwriting, guitar playing, humor, and relentless drive to more than a dozen albums.
