Two Months of Silence in Disappearance of Matilde Muñoz in Indonesia
Matilde Muñoz, a 72-year-old woman from Ferrol, has been missing in Lombok, Indonesia, since July 1. Her family and friends have not received any news, despite efforts to locate her. The Indonesian police have agreed to review her phone's geolocation data, after her belongings were found discarded in a hotel trash bin on August 24. The family has been pressing for access to her mobile and banking activity, but the investigation has faced delays and alleged negligence. The Spanish authorities, including Mossos d'Esquadra and Interpol, are involved, requesting mobile geolocation and last movements of her bank cards. The Indonesian police confirmed that she has not left the country but have yet to interrogate anyone. Her friends suspect something happened at her hotel, which had security issues, and have criticized the slow response and lack of active search efforts. Her family criticizes the disparity in diplomatic aid compared to other cases, such as Daniel Sancho's. Her nephew, Ignacio Vilariño, expressed frustration over the slow investigation and alleged institutional neglect, emphasizing that Mati is a person, not a stolen car, and demanding more proactive measures from authorities.
