A person has died following an explosion at a fireworks company in Redován, Alicante, occurring shortly after 9:30 AM on Thursday. The explosion took place in a transformation shed at the well-known Ferrández fireworks business, causing a loud blast heard locally and igniting a fire. Eight fire crews from Almoradí and Orihuela, along with Guardia Civil and medical services, responded to the scene. Although a medical helicopter was dispatched, it was not needed as the victim, a 58-year-old worker, died instantly. The explosion destroyed the shed but did not spread to other parts of the facility, which are typically isolated for safety. This incident marks the second explosion at an Alicante fireworks company within a year; a previous explosion in March at Hermanos Sirvent resulted in one death and four injuries. The cause of the recent explosion remains under investigation.
