Historic Reopening of Salzwedel's Iconic Disco 'Pumpe' and Wesel's Hansefest 2025
The beloved nightclub 'Pumpe' in Salzwedel has reopened after years of renovation, with its grand comeback attracting around 1,000 guests and selling out tickets within just eight minutes. The event featured multiple dance floors with a mix of house, techno, charts, and classics, complemented by light shows, fog machines, and live DJs, creating a nostalgic and energetic atmosphere. The owner, Steffen Putzker, acquired the club in 2019 to restore its former glory, and the reopening marked a significant cultural revival for the city. Simultaneously, Wesel hosted its 30th Historic Hansefest from October 24-26, 2025, under the theme 'Homecoming 2025 – Welcome Home.' The festival included medieval markets, a Hanseatic parade, and a variety of entertainment, with the event beginning on Friday at 2 PM and concluding on Sunday with a seafaring choir concert. The festival featured a medieval market with vendors selling historical goods, a farmers' and medieval market, and a grand parade of knights and jesters, culminating in a fire show and the ceremonial admission of Rees into the Rheinische Hanse. Both events drew large crowds, emphasizing the cultural and festive spirit of the region. The Hansefest also included a charity auction and a lively street parade, making it a highlight for families and history enthusiasts alike. Visitors were encouraged to use free parking options and follow city guidance to enjoy these vibrant community celebrations.
