Greifswald Police Investigate Triple Arson Incident in One Hour
In Greifswald, within a span of just one hour, police and fire services responded to three separate fires in the Fleischervorstadt area. The incidents occurred overnight on Monday, starting with a fire in Neunmorgenstraße, which caused significant damage estimated at around 15,550 euros. Flames spread to a basement window and the building facade, but residents were unharmed. About 30 minutes later, a trash container in Feldstraße caught fire, quickly extinguished by firefighters. Ten minutes after that, another trash bin in Birnenweg was set ablaze; a resident managed to put out the fire. The police suspect these fires may be linked to arson and are investigating for attempted severe arson. No injuries were reported, but the damage to the first fire was substantial, while the others caused minor damages. The police are actively pursuing leads in connection with these incidents.
