Chance Liga Changes Rules: No More Handing Balls, New Ball Restart System, and Health Safety Updates

The Czech Chance Liga is implementing significant rule changes aimed at increasing game speed and reducing disruptions. Starting from the upcoming season, ball retrivals will no longer be performed by ball boys directly handing balls to players. Instead, 13 designated ball holders will place balls on special stands around the field, and players must use either the ball that left the field or the nearest stand ball, significantly limiting direct ball passing by players. This system, inspired by the English Premier League, aims to minimize delays and external influences during game restarts. Additionally, the league is introducing the '4Z' rule, requiring all clubs to have standardized medical facilities, including defibrillators, to enhance player and spectator safety. These health safety measures are part of broader efforts to improve match conditions, effective from the 2025/26 season. The league also saw the appointment of a new league committee, with representatives from top clubs like Slavia Prague, Plzeň, Sparta Prague, and Ostrava, for a one-year term ending June 2026. The season's fixture list was announced, with prominent matches including Slavia starting against Hradec Králové and the derby between Sparta and Slavia in the 11th round. Furthermore, the league continues to evolve with other updates, including the rebranding of the highest Czech league to Chance Liga, and ongoing discussions about players, transfers, and other football-related news. The changes are part of broader efforts to streamline gameplay, improve health safety protocols, and enhance the overall competitive environment.
